RingerText is operated by Laguna Foundry LLC. This page documents where captains, rostered players, and ringers/substitutes provide explicit SMS consent before receiving RingerText messages.

Consent checklist

Mobile phone number field is visible before consent.

Consent checkbox is optional and not pre-selected.

Disclosure states recurring automated hockey lineup and availability texts.

Disclosure includes message frequency, message and data rates, STOP instructions, and HELP instructions.

SMS Terms, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy links appear next to the opt-in.

Submit buttons use clear action language tied to signup or registration, with a warning when SMS consent is declined.

No roster or ringer automation starts until the captain confirms the schedule and starter SMS credits are active.

The checkbox is not pre-selected. Captains can continue setup without SMS consent, but RingerText will not send recurring automated game texts to that phone unless SMS is enabled.

Opt-in flow summary

RingerText does not use purchased lists or cold uploads for automated SMS.

Captain signup

Captain enters name, email, and mobile phone number. RingerText sends a one-time verification code for account security. Recurring captain/team-alert SMS consent is optional and separate from that security code.

Team setup

Captain creates the team, confirms schedule details, configures positions, thresholds, and roll-call timing.

Roster link

Rostered players use a private team link to enter name, sweater number, positions, and phone number. SMS consent is optional; players without consent are inactive for automated texts.

Ringer link

Substitutes/ringers use a separate private team link with the same optional SMS consent collection.

Consent storage

The system stores timestamp, phone, team, source link, disclosure version, IP when available, and opt-in, declined, or opt-out state.

Roster and ringer registration consent

Team-specific roster and ringer links use the same optional consent disclosure. A player or ringer can join without SMS, but they are marked inactive for automated texts.
